Analysis 86 and 90

  • The temperature is within the comfort zone of 68 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • There is recognizable stratification, but the difference is a mere 3 degrees of change, over a 10 foot height change.

Analysis 94 and 87

  • The space remains at a constant 70 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • The temperature never reaches outside the comfort zone.
  • There is no remarkable stratification from 1st Floor to 2nd Floor.

Analysis 91, 92, and 93

  • Temperature in the barista station is within the comfort zone during the day.
  • The temperature falls slightly above the comfort zone (80 degrees Fahrenheit) during the evening hours.
  • No heat stratification from 1st to 2nd Floor, actually cooling takes place but only 1-2 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Temperature on the customer side barista counter reaches into the mid-80’s, which is well above the comfort zone, perhaps the grinder/espresso machine is the culprit for overheating this space.

Analysis 89 and 90

  • The temperature in these spaces stays within the comfort zone, as it stays in the low 70’s throughout the daytime.
  • The stratification through the building is very minimal.

Rayteck Readings

We used Raytek to read the surface temperature of the wall 8 feet high behind the coffee counter. We found that the temperature increased as you got closer to the kitchen.
